Shady Lady - Hand-made lampshades

I started Shady Lady about 10 years ago as it was apparent that there that there were very few lampshades available other than the standard shapes and colours offered in most shops.

SERVICES

I make lampshades in most fabrics in most shapes and sizes. This covers soft shades: i.e. shades lined in a soft fabric such as silk; and firm shades: i.e. shades lined in PVC.

NEW LAMPSHADES

For new lampshades I can provide:

• frames made to your specific requirements
• coverings in a wide range of fabrics such as silk, linen, hessian etc.
• in most circumstances a shade covered in a fabric of your choice: i.e. the same as your curtains or cushions
• a wide range of braids and trimmings to add the finishing touch

RE-COVERING OLD LAMPSHADES

If you have an old shade which is past its best I can:

• clean and re-cover it if the frame is in good condition
• if the frame is not in good condition often have it repaired
• sometimes clean and re-use old trimmings on a newly covered shade
• sometimes re-line shades where the lining has gone but the outer covering is still in good condition
